Mason is a small guy with a lot of heart. His big ears carried him all the way up from the streets of Texas and he is finally ready to find his forever home!
He has a heart of gold and LOVES to snuggle; he has a way of fitting into every nook and cranny and loves to be by his people but is also okay doing his own thing. He is crate trained and potty trained and consistently sleeps like a rock through the night. Currently, he stays at home four days of the week while the foster parents are at work with a walker stopping by for some playtime midday and he does great. He loves puzzle toys, going for walks both around the neighborhood and at the local nature preserve, finding food in his snuffle mat, and being around his people.
He has met many strangers and does well with meeting new people on the street or having friends come to the home. He has met some older kids who know how to approach him calmly but hasn't meet any young kiddos yet. He loves to play and will be steadfast in protecting you and your family against the wrath of local squirrels, rabbits, and birds. :)
With so much excitement in such a little body, he can be a bit reactive to meeting other dogs while on leash. This is getting better with time but he needs a family who's understanding that he needs some more practice working through all his big emotions! He is incredibly smart; he loves training, learning new things, and is incredibly food motivated/ ready to do what you ask! He also has an incredible box jump and I'm sure would excel in agility classes. :) We aren't sure how he would do with another dog in the home since he's the "only child" at his foster home currently. Per his former shelter, he did great with female dogs but could be a little selective with male dogs.
Mason is the ultimate sweetie and would do best with a family who can provide good routine and structure, have a yard or a way to get him lots of sniffs and outside play, and be ready to give him all the hugs and belly rubs he so deserves!
