Meet Chai!

Chai is a gentle pup with the sweetest spirit, looking for a patient and loving forever home. While she’s had a tough start, she’s slowly learning that the world isn’t so scary—and with the right person by her side, she’s sure to blossom into an incredible companion.

Chai is one of the quietest dogs you’ll ever meet—she doesn’t bark, but she might let out a little dream whimper while snoozing. And she loves to snooze! Her favorite pastime is curling up in her dog bed, where she spends most of the day relaxing until it’s time for a walk. But don’t be fooled—this girl also has a playful side! When given the chance to run in a safe space, she gets the best zoomies before melting into belly rubs (her absolute favorite).

Chai is re-learning how to trust the world. She’s alert on walks, carefully watching bikers, cars, and pedestrians—but she’s also incredibly well-mannered. She does not pull on her leash much, generally listens to your directions, is house-trained. If you’re looking for a dog that adores people, Chai is your girl! She lights up whenever someone pets her, often trying to follow them for more attention. While she hasn’t had much exposure to kids, dogs, or cats yet and as she is a bit fearful of the world, an environment with small children with minimal boundaries may be scary for her. She’s shown a deep affection for human companionship and will likely thrive in a home that gives her plenty of love, and truly doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body.

Chai will do best in a calm, patient home with a family that understands she needs time to build confidence. She’s not food-motivated, so training may take a little creativity, but her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. She has shown some resource guarding with food and water - mostly spending time trying to move the apartment rug over to hide it - so her adopter should be mindful of that as she settles in.

If you’re looking for a quiet, medium energy dog who will reward your patience with endless love (and the best belly rub sessions), Chai is waiting for you!
